Precious is from our third litter out of Holly . . . she was the strangest looking puppy, but we all remember the story of the "Ugly Duckling" from childhood. There was just something about her movement that drew me to her. Against all advice, I kept her in addition to her sister (Evie, who left our home to reside with friends in LaPorte, IN).

Precious was a great performer, you could lay her leash on the ground and she'd keep her pose . . . she won Grand Sweeps and Winner's Bitch at Ohio Boxer Club with Bob Phillips' handling. It was taking her to ABC that seemed to end her desire to show . . . specifically having her picture taken, after which she shook from the noises, etc., used to gain her attention for a nice picture.  From this time on she was weary of any noise or strange object around the ring, no matter who tried to show, or how they tried to comfort/condition her . . . including many of us taking turns at standing at doors and keeping things quiet when she was in the ring. Everyone loved her, so we had lots of cooperation and effort on the great show scene!

Regretfully, Precious left this world in December of 2001 along with her mother -- talk about a horrible day at the vet's!?!

We thought she was improving and only had a minor set-back, but the blood work spoke otherwise. It was the pureeing of her food over the last months that had her hydrated and appearing outwardly stable, but the vet felt she had long passed the point of no return with us having only a matter of hours or days . . . we let her and her mother depart in each other's company.

Precious will be lovingly remembered by many of our local show circuit.
