We were lucky to have found Holly to live with us . . . we happened to be in the "right place" at the "right time." We purchased her from Cheryl Colby and Leon DePriest (Hollycrest Boxers).  Called on a whim, purchasing Holly instead of a new sofa.  All worked for the best as she became our first champion and foundation to all we have!

The story goes that Leon wanted to keep Holly (she was out a female they imported from Australia), however, he was out of town. Cheryl was upset with him over something, and sold me the dog while he was away. It worked out fine . . . Leon got to show "his girl" and she obtained her championship to their male's credit, and he had the opportunity to direct her first breeding and obtain a puppy from her. Not to mention, we remained friends to his death the summer of 2000.

We will be forever grateful for having had the opportunity to own and know such a wonderful Boxer!

Regretfully, we helped Holly to "The Bridge" in December of 2001 after a respiratory infection seemed to leave her with urinary problems as well as incontenance . . . greatly diminishing her beautiful quality of life.

Holly was a great foster-mom for us with many litters of puppies, once even making milk for our Luie (I think she must have had a false pregnancy at the time, but it was great timing for both herself and Luie).

Holly was the best foundation anyone could ever hope to have, and we appreciate her continued presence in our offspring -- all going back to her.
